Hello,
This is just a quick note for those developing battery operated devices.
I have been playing with battery powered dev kits for some time now and I always had issues testing how much current was being drawn from the battery.
Most good multi-meters can measure μAmps but are usually only accurate to about 50 μAmps or so and with devices like McThings, Ibeacons etc claiming sub 2 μAmps in sleep mode even a very good multi-meter doesn't cut it.
A while back I came across this kickstarter campaign called μCurrent Gold which is a device that is accurately reads how many amps being pulled from the battery and outputs the reading in μVolts which multi-meters can read more accurately. The device is accurate down to nAmps.
I know the McDev board has some power measurement capabilities but until mine arrives and I do some testing I tell how accurate it is or how low it goes.
I should note I am not affiliated with this person other then being a happy customer, here is the link
