How is mc-Things protecting our data in these areas? I am trying to focus on software security issues. If anyone nefarious gains physical access to the hardware, security goes out the window.
- LPLAN messages passing from mc-Modules to the mc-Gateway (and vice versa)
- mc-Gateway security if the LAN gets compromised
- MQTT and IFTTT messages from mc-Gateway over the open internet
Even though a cursory review may think sensor data is innocuous, there are plenty of conceivable ways on how to gain information about lifestyles by learning patterns based on IoT products. We want to know how our data is encrypted.
If anyone sees more areas of software-centric and wireless security issues, please let me know or add them to the discussion.
