mc-Gateway / Re: Using WPS to re-connect Mc-GW to new Wi-Fi router
« on: May 01, 2017, 04:47:18 pm »
So based on the testing I have done, once you connect the MC-GW to a Wi-Fi router using WPS, that is the only router you can use. Unless you connect to ethernet and manually enter the new router information via MC-Studio.

The WPS process will not allow you to connect to any new Wi-Fi routers.

So my question now is there anyway to clear out the SSID & password information on the MC-GW so that you can start with a fresh MC-GW that you can connect using WPS?

So when I try that it never makes a connection to the new Wi-Fi router. The "Conn" and "Status" leds just keep blinking until the WPS process times out on the router. Any suggestions?

mc-Gateway / Using WPS to re-connect Mc-GW to new Wi-Fi router

Say I have my mC-gateway currently connected to my home Wi-Fi router but, now I want to move the mC-gateway to another location and connect to a different Wi-Fi network.
Can I re-connect the mC-gateway to the new Wi-Fi router by repeating the WPS process? (e.g. press the WPS button on the Wi-Fi router and then hold User Switch for 1 second)

Hello Nick, I'm preparing to jump back into the accelerometer and going to start off with your LISDH12 library. Have you had any issues with using the library on the 120 since this post that I should be aware of?

mc-Studio / Re: Mc-studio is seriously unstable!
« on: February 19, 2017, 04:05:31 pm »
Yep, I feel the same way as the subject line. When it works its great. But, sometimes it seems I spend more time an energy trying to work around the bugs than I do on testing. Sometimes it takes so long to get a few test iterations working that I forget what I was testing.  :'(. However, I feel this platform has so much to offer that I'm sticking with it. Eventually the bugs will be resolved and be more stable for testing/debugging.

Thanks for the good info Kristofferis. I was going to experiment with one those MQ4 smoke sensors. Try and connect it to a 120 and place in an enclosure but, I think it draws too much current. What are your thoughts?

Looking at various sensors on websites I see a lot of sensors require 5V. Can anyone provide instructions on how you could use an MC-120 module with sensor that require 5V to operate? Is this even possible?

mc-Module / Re: Reed Switch Problems

Thanks Nick, Josh. That works very well now. I also replaced the magnet with one I bought off Amazon that seems to work better than the magnet that came with cases even through its feels much weaker.

Here is the new code I'm using based on your suggestion. Let me know if it can be improved upon.
Class Type1Sensor
    Shared sensorMessage As String
    Shared sensorType As Integer
    Shared sensorInterval As Integer
    Shared TempF As Float
    Shared TempC As Float
    Shared BattVolt As Integer
    Shared strBattVolt As String

    Shared Event Boot()
        sensorType = 1
        sensorInterval = 5 //minutes
        sensorMessage = "closed"
    End Event

    Shared Event keepalive() RaiseEvent Every 10 Seconds
        BattVolt = Device.BatteryVoltage// Get battery voltage
        TempC = TempSensor.GetTemp
        TempF = TempSensor.ToFarenheit(TempC)
        MQTT.BeaconPublish(dataType.TEMPERATURE, TempF, BattVolt)
    End Event

    Shared Event inSync() RaiseEvent Every 60 Seconds //keep the status inSync with dashboard in case of fast transistations
        BattVolt = Device.BatteryVoltage// Get battery voltage
        TempC = TempSensor.GetTemp
        TempF = TempSensor.ToFarenheit(TempC)
        If ReedSwitch = True Then
            sensorMessage = "open"
        Else
            sensorMessage = "closed"
        End If
        MQTT.Publish(sensorType, sensorInterval, sensorMessage, TempF, BattVolt)
        Thread.Sleep(10000)
        Thread.ClearHardwareEvent()
    End Event

    Shared Event ReedSwitchChanged()
        //initialize system variables
        If ReedSwitch = True Then
            sensorMessage = "open"
            LedRed = True
        Else
            sensorMessage = "closed"
            LedRed = False
        End If
        BattVolt = Device.BatteryVoltage// Get battery voltage
        TempC = TempSensor.GetTemp
        TempF = TempSensor.ToFarenheit(TempC)
        MQTT.Publish(sensorType, sensorInterval, sensorMessage, TempF, BattVolt)
        Thread.Sleep(10000)
        Thread.ClearHardwareEvent()
    End Event
End Class

mc-Studio / Re: Crashing during debugging
« on: January 12, 2017, 11:31:06 pm »
Yeah me too. I'm using Nck's MQTT library and it's running fine. At least now it is after I upgraded everything.

40
After installing all the latest versions everything is working great now. Even the debugger seems more stable now.

I can run and load the following code on the device. However, if I add any libraries (attached), mc-Studio will either freeze when I try to "Load and Save Device" or displays the attached error screen shot if I try to just run.

Class Blinky
    Shared Event blink() RaiseEvent Every 3 Seconds
        LedRed = True
        //LedRed = False
    End Event
End Class

mc-Innovations / Car Battery Monitor
« on: January 11, 2017, 11:18:51 pm »
Can anyone provide some starting instructions on how one would go about using the MC-120 to monitor a car battery? Trying to figure out how I would wire the pins on the 120 to monitor the battery voltage level.

43
I'm currently at my day job but, once I return to my lab I'll try that and let you know how it goes.

44
Yes. Everytime. So far I tried five times on three separate 120s and all lock up studio when trying to load & save.

45
UPDATE! I tried again this morning and same thing. Studio freezes when attempting to "Load and Save to Device".
