Connection to device failed: Please try again

Hi, All help is appreciated.

Environment:
mc-OTA Updater - v.1.2.10
Windows 10 64 bit
Surface Pro 3

I am following the instructions that are located [url]here[http://static1.squarespace.com/static/5644f11fe4b0d6ca7d80d351/t/57b489032994ca7441103595/1471449348947/mcOTA+Quick+Start+Guide.pdf]. I have tried  2 different USB cables.

For some reason, my mc-dongle didn't come with a serial number sticker. So, I'm using the wildcard 00000000. However, I can't seem to connect. I am repeatedly getting 'Connection to device failed: Please try again'.

Any more information I can pass along to help, please let me know.

There is No serial for the McDongle.

* You need to use the serial of a module (or the Gateway if you are updating that one).
* Remove battery from module
* press search device
* apply battery

...if all is correct it will find your module and info is displayed...

* update the device with proper firmware
