Using WPS to re-connect Mc-GW to new Wi-Fi router

(1/2) > >>

kbrooking:
Say I have my mC-gateway currently connected to my home Wi-Fi router but, now I want to move the mC-gateway to another location and connect to a different Wi-Fi network.
Can I re-connect the mC-gateway to the new Wi-Fi router by repeating the WPS process? (e.g. press the WPS button on the Wi-Fi router and then hold User Switch for 1 second)

mc-John:
Yes just follow the same process when you connected it the first time.

kbrooking:
So when I try that it never makes a connection to the new Wi-Fi router. The "Conn" and "Status" leds just keep blinking until the WPS process times out on the router. Any suggestions?

kbrooking:
So based on the testing I have done, once you connect the MC-GW to a Wi-Fi router using WPS, that is the only router you can use. Unless you connect to ethernet and manually enter the new router information via MC-Studio.

The WPS process will not allow you to connect to any new Wi-Fi routers.

So my question now is there anyway to clear out the SSID & password information on the MC-GW so that you can start with a fresh MC-GW that you can connect using WPS?

mc-T2:
Can you confirm if you have any information entered into the Gateway configuration (SSID and Password)?

As mc-John mentioned, the mcGateway can move between WIFI networks by following the same WPS procedure. I have done this many times myself with moving a gateway between two different locations and connecting to the WPS network.
