Frequent crashes with mc-studio
« on: January 06, 2017, 10:51:09 pm »
This app constantly crashes. 2 days ago I re-installed, rebooted... it still crashed. I manually removed everything from the windows install directory and my appdata . Then it worked, but broke my apps. I have them all in text so it was just copy/paste. Maybe implement a send error details to mc-things option so you guys can debug.

Hi bdevlin,
sorry that you are experiencing these issues. We do not have an error reporting feature within the application at this time, maybe down the road. In the meantime, please post any error codes you see onto the forum so that our team can look at them.

Soon we will be releasing a new version of mcStudio that has many bug fixes implemented (including better error codes to give our users a better idea of what is happening if the application crashes).
Thanks for your patience as we continue to make the software better

Hey bdevlin,

Just wanted to let you know that we just finished adding graceful error handling to the application. While I'm sorry to say that it wont prevent these errors from happening, mcStudio will no longer exit in the event of an error/exception. The resulting dialog also has an option to save the error log to a text file, which should make it a bit more convenient to send bug reports our way (which we deeply appreciate).

I'm sorry to say that a "send crash report" type of behaviour is not something that we can expect to see in mcStudio in the near future. Regardless, we've recorded a feature request for this functionality based on your post.

Best,

- Eric
