Missing devices in Device Maintenance qnd Connection
« on: June 22, 2016, 07:44:46 pm »
I have 14 devices. All of them were visible via the Mc-ATO Updater. All units are at the latest version 1v.07r357.

Only 8 of the devices are visible in McStudio Device Maintenance and Connection.

How do I get the missing devices to be recognized by McStudio? I try disconnecting the McGateway and reconnecting, getting the same list. I stopped McStudio and restarted it; same list of devices.

In addition 2 of the devices (0044 and 004c) have Version 0.0-0

Have you tried power cycling the devices that are not showing up? Also can you make sure mc-OTA is not running. This program would keep the devices in bootloader mode in which case they wouldn't show up in the list of devices.

Another thing I could suggest is just powering down the 8 that show up and see if you can see the other ones. This might help us narrow down the problem if there is one with the system.

Earlier on, I could see 8 of my 14 devices on the list.
I try to connect to the first 4 ones, without success. Then I reset my McGateway and even unplug it and repluged it. None of my devices are showing up the selection screen.

I am using McStudio 0.7-893. McGateway GwVersion 0.6-357 LpLanVersion 0.7-404 and all my devices are at the latest version.

The environment of McThings is very inconsistent; these are computer: doing the same thing should always get the same result.
What should I do to get consistency ? I am looking forward to start developping programs for McThings but ....

When you say 8 of 14 devices in the list is that the beacon list or the device list?

What is a beacon list or device list?
On my Device Maintnance ... screen; there is a list of Gateway and then, below, a list  of devices. This is where my devices are listed. I only see 8 of my 14 devices. I am not running Mc-OTA and recycled every devices not appearing on the list by removind and recinstalling the battery.

Mc-OTA is not running. Got my list of 8 units. I removed the battery of one of the unit on the list.
Disconnected the McGateway (from McStudio) not removing the power.
Connected the McGateway; the unit without the battery is still on the list without BeaconData and timestamp

The beacon list is in the Tools menu. This shows device beaconing information. Firts disconnect all physical gateways and than open the beaconing form and the system will show all devices that send out beacons.

The device list shows devices that the gateway has seen within the last 24 hours. That is why the device you removed the battery from is still showing up. Could you restart your gateway (power cycle) to see if that helps.

I got my 14 units showing up on the TOOLS/BEACONING. I got the list without unpowering and repowering the McGateway

However only 8 are included in the Device Maintenance... screen
Of which 7 have beacon data and datestamp
Of which only 3 have TYPE mcMOD110
Only 4 have the right version 0.7-357

I ran a few more tests.
I Unpluged my McGateway (physically removing the power supply) and repluged it. I open both "Received Beacon" screen and "Device Maintenance..." screen side by side.
My 14 devices are all included in the list. The devices appeard on both list at different time (different sequence). However when on the list the Beacon Datestamp are the same.

Good news: some of my Devices have the size of the code running. First time that I see the size.
Bad news; some of the Devices dhave the wrong version 0.0-0 while McOTA tells me that is is 0.7-357
