Before updating my 120 modules and mc-GW to the latest firmware I was able to consistently connect the modules to the gateway for programming. Now, after upgrading it seems much greater problems trying to get the modules to connect which is very time consuming and frustrating.

Seems like some modules the only way I can connect to the GW is to click on "Connect Device" and then immeadate ly click "Abort" and repeat that several dozen times until it finally connects.

Has anyone else experienced this same behavior?

One thing I want to mention is that I have been experimenting with external sensors on these modules and have been soldering components onto them. Althrough not pretty, the solder job look to be functional. Could this be the cause for the connection issues?

After further experimentation ::),  looks like the 120 modules that I have not tried to attach external sensors to do not exhibit the connection problems. They appear to be connecting fine.

The connection problem seems to only affect the modules I have tried to modify with external sensors. Any idea what I should look for that maybe causing the connection problem on these modules? Maybe solder slag between two pins or something?

Maybe you should try to erase the code on the devices with the OTA software just to make sure that it's not the code that is causing the issue.

Yeah, I always erase the code before loading a new one.

Just to go through the standard troubleshootiing:

1) Are you using fresh/good batteries?
2) Can you see those modules beaconing in mcStudio (Unless the code that is existing on the modules removes the beacons)?
3) Previously, you had no issues connecting to those devices that you have soldered sensors into?
4) You are using the newest mcOTA application to complete these updates?

One trick i use when connecting to the modules quickly (instead of waiting for the connection beacon) is to connect to a gateway and then select the module i want to connect to. After clicking connect device, I then remove and re-install the battery on the module. This allows the module to restart and forces a connection beacon almost immediately after the battery is re-installed.
